The People’s National Party (PNP) is questioning the legality of another delay in the Local Government Elections. Opposition Leader Mark Golding is urging the Andrew Holness-led Jamaica Labour Party to call the elections noting society has for some time eased social distancing requirements. 

Still, no signs of a Local Government Election in 2023 and the Opposition is urging the government to act swiftly so as to not be in breach of the law. The Opposition Leader explains that society has been functioning for a year now without the social distancing requirements. Golding says nearly a dozen councils are now without sitting councillors.
