To provide closure into claims of negligence or malpractice in medical cases, Opposition Spokesperson on Health and Wellness, Jesse James Clarke is advocating for an agency to undertake investigations concerning actions by health care workers. He says the agency would hold those responsible for wrongful deaths and unethical practices. It is suggested that, in this framework, offenders would face severe consequences.

From the case of 17-year-old Jalisa McGowan to the tragic case of Shanique Armstrong, hospital negligence has become a sad expectation for some in Jamaica’s health care system.  

He also discourages the unethical practice of health care workers filming and sharing videos of patients, citing it as a violation of privacy. Watch the report below:
