The Opposition is calling on the government to provide teachers with a liveable salary of over 200-thousand dollars monthly. This comes after scores of teachers across the island recently staged protests in response to government’s latest wage offer. Opposition Spokesperson on Education & Training Senator Damion Crawford says teachers should not be forced into agreement with the government’s proposal.
Amidst strike action by scores of teachers across the island, minister of finance & the Public Service Dr Nigel Clarke rebuffs their demands for additional pay during the budget debate on Tuesday. Speaking at a press briefing Wednesday Senator Crawford says the latest strike action by teachers is a result of frustration accumulated by the government. Watch the report:
