Newly appointed Government Ministers elated – Among the new slate of Cabinet Ministers, Prime Minister Andrew Holness named on Friday, September 11, are Floyd Green, appointed Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and WellnessCVM LIVE spoke with them about their ascension and plans going forward. 

Newly named State Minister in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn is excited about working with Dr.Christopher Tufton, who continues to manage the Health and Wellness portfolio. 

As an Olympian, she is committed to fitness and believes the emphasis on a healthier nation should continue, especially with the current threat of Covid-19. 

The JLP’s Cuthbert-Flynn, who became Member of Parliament for the St. Andrew West Rural constituency in 2016,  retained her seat in the September 3 general election.

Meanwhile, Floyd Green, formerly State Minister in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture, and Fisheries is elated about his new title as the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. 

Among the things citizens can expect from him in managing the portfolio is ensuring more youths engage in agriculture.

Green adds that the ministry will also be embarking on a robust programme to assist farmers most affected by the pandemic. 

He also says the ministry has to continue on its path to rightsize the sugar industry.
