A happy new year! Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, extends his wishes for a positive and prosperous New Year for Jamaicans, as he calls on citizens to shun corruption, malice, and hatred from their hearts.

Noting the need for renewed efforts in the fight against anti-social behavior, to facilitate a better Jamaica for the New Year. As we learn from the trials of 2022, Prime Minister Andrew Holness breathes a sense of hopefulness for 2023.

Lauding the government’s resilience in the fight against crime, and the country’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic’s effect on the economy. The New Year will see the government pursuing more legislative amendments to combat challenges ranging from crime to road safety. And, Prime Minister Holness says more developments are to come, including the government’s approach to proper waste management.

Despite the challenges of 2022, Leader of the Opposition Mark Golding hails Jamaicans for their endurance. As he assures that better days are ahead.
