A retaining wall project for the Downtown Harbour in Kingston is being coordinated by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
The venture, spearheaded by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation involves the Jamaica Social Investment Fund and the World Bank.
Residents from Rae Town and other neighboring communities can anticipate employment and entrepreneurship opportunities from the project.
The Member of Parliament for Central Kingston, Donavan Williams and Kingston’s Mayor, Delroy Williams toured the area.
The Member of Parliament for the constituency says he is committed to the development of the Rae Town Community, which he says has been neglected for years.
To add, Kingston’s Mayor, Delroy Williams says this initiative is mainly to protect the road way from erosion and this project is most important for the development of the shorelines.
Mayor Williams says to date he is pleased with the ongoing development process.
CVM LIVE understands that the project will see full completion by April 2021.
