Yesterday, National Environment & Planning Agency, NEPA, responded to reports of an oil spill in Bog Walk Gorge around 5pm. After immediate assessment and ongoing investigations today, it was determined that the spill originated from a nearby factory.
In the release, NEPA highlighted that they also engaged the company’s management in cooperative efforts for cleanup. Petrojam has committed to assisting in extracting the oil and preventing further downstream movement. Efforts are concentrated near the bridge to resolve the situation swiftly.
