The House of Representatives on Tuesday, October 1, approved the extension of the State of Public Emergency (SOE) for the South St. Andrew Police Division until January 4, 2020.
Prime minister Andrew Holness, While addressing the house on Tuesday, said it is very important that criminals understand there is an agreement among lawmakers to have an unyielding grip on crime.
However, Member of Parliament for South West St. Andrew Angela Brown-Burke says criminals have learnt how to outsmart the security system.
