The St James woman who residents accused of playing a role in the death of her 7-year-old son, Aiden Rose, has been slapped with child neglect charges and has been remanded. Police say while it’s early days yet they are treating the death as a homicide and the mother is the sole suspect. 

Spence has also been slapped with child neglect charges. This after it was reported that she left the child unattended on Monday to conduct banking transactions in Montego Bay and allegedly returned to find he had disappeared. Despite this, no alarm was reportedly raised or search launched until Tuesday morning when it’s reported she asked a neighbour to investigate whether it was her son who was lying under a tree nearby in bushes.

That was when she reportedly alerted the police. 

Residents say Spence purchased cigarettes and told them of the child’s passing before alerting the authorities. However, the police say whether other charges will be laid against her will depend on their findings. Watch the full report below:
