Another double murder in the Granville, St.James division has left residents Nompreill and Top Hill District and one Political Representative calling for divine and enhanced security interventions.

This comes after a woman and her four-year-old son were shot and critically injured about 3:50 am on Monday, July 19, and later succumbed to their wounds at hospital.

The bloodied bed bares the evidence of the deadly encounter.

Reports are that three masked men broke the glass windows in this two-room board dwelling, and fired several shots hitting a sleeping mother and child.

Dead are 42-year-old vendor Shelly-Ann Shaw and her 4-year-old son Jamar Powell.

The community’s plunged into fear at the news of the passing and none of the residents wished to be identified or shown on camera.

Councilor for the Granville Division, Michael Troupe recently called for a Zone of Special Operations (ZOSOs) in the St.James area.

He says 11 more bodies are to be buried following the wave of bloodletting in the division.

He’s calling on all stakeholders to demand peace while urging the criminals to end the violence.
