More Education Adjustments Due To COVID-19

The education sector is again being forced to further adjust in light of stricter COVID-19 measures introduced Sunday. The measures will see no face-to-face interaction for students and even a delay of the Ministry’s Mobile Unit programme.

On the heels of the new restrictions announced by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Sunday, Education Minister Fayval Williams also announced new adjustments for students sitting exams.

The Minister notes that all students are to continue exam preparations at home and that the mobile intervention program will also be halted.

Day care centres will remain open however they are to be guided by the disaster risk management act. Meanwhile, parents of students on PATH, will continue to receive their allocation while at home.

The Minister also indicates that the own your own device initiative income threshold has been raised.
