Fisher folk and farmers in Hartlands, St. Catherine are hoping for sunny days ahead following visit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries recently.  Farmers in the community say the impact of the heavy rainfall almost drowned their livelihoods.

However, according to the Ministry help is on the way.

The Ministry says it will be putting forward a production incentive system for fisher folks in Parliament come next week.

Minister Floyd Green says the allocation of resources for fishing communities has been limited over the years.

However, since the coronavirus outbreak, there has been an increased demand for fish.

Minister Green also shared the impact of the recent rainfall on the Agriculture Sector. He says over 11 thousand farmers were impacted.
