Still more work to be done. With a number of major fires in the Kingston and St. Andrew municipality over the years, and the higher volume of vendors needing space to conduct their business, Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams says the area has become overcrowded.

Noting his dissatisfaction with the matter, the Mayor says plans are already underway to resolve this issue. Mayor Williams says the Jubilee Market is expected to be completed sometime in January. As he notes the shops have already been finished, and only final aesthetic touches remain.

With several vendors feeling displaced, the Mayor says the municipality is seeking accommodation on their behalf.  As he expresses hopefulness about more arcades and markets receiving much needed redesign and renovation. As the municipality pursues other projects across the space.
