The Mayor of Kingston and St. Andrew, Delroy Williams says the municipality has taken action to address concerns about construction in the Corporate Area.

To add, Mayor Williams is reminding developers that their notice of intent to build must be made known to the members of the community before they begin constructions.

This, he says will lessen the level of friction between the developers and residents when construction gets underway.

A review body has been set up to administer the developmental concerns of residents in areas undergoing construction.

Additionally, Williams says though the municipality appreciates that construction plays a substantial role in the economy it must not be at the expense of any citizen’s comfort.

He says all heavy duty construction must be done on weekdays between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

And no construction should be done on Sundays and public holidays.

Persons are being urged to report any breach of the established protocols.
