Another major fish kill in the Rio Cobre extending from Gregory Park to White Marl in St Catherine has left more than a stench in the area. Dozens of fisherfolk and advocates blasted the environmental watchdog, National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), for what they consider acts akin to protecting the entities at the heart of the spill. They say months after the first major fishkill this year, NEPA is yet to say the source of the pollution nor measures taken.
