The turnout on Tuesday, August 24, at the Turtle River Park, vaccination blitz in Ocho Rios surpassed expectation. It was evident that the crowd at the location was more than anticipated. Inside Turtle River Park, no chairs were left available, and long lines were seen as people waited patiently for their COVID-19 jabs.

People went as far as using an unauthorized entrance to the facility and had to be escorted off the property, back into the lines. However, what was noticeable, the lack of social distancing.

Councillor Michael Belnavis, who was busy on the day serving bottled water to persons who came out for their COVID-19 vaccines, however stated that this is a remarkable look for St. Ann. Many persons who came out said they were happy with the decision they have taken to get vaccinated and implored other Jamaicans to get vaccinated as well.

The site was scheduled to close at 4 pm, but up to 6:30 pm, CVM Live was informed that people were still being attended to.
