The People’s National Party (PNP) President, Mark Golding has chastised the governing Jamaica Labour Party, for its handling of the country’s affairs since assuming power. Golding told party supporters several of the JLP’s promises on the economy, crime, and transparency were not kept.

the opposition leader is calling on the government to increase the minimum wage to twelve thousand dollars (12,000), asserting that when the PNP forms the government again, it will seek to increase the minimum wage annually.

he was addressing the party’s 83rd annual conference in Kingston, on Sunday, October 18.

Mark Golding says it’s incumbent on the governing JLP to honour its promise and increase the minimum wage to 12 thousand dollars. Currently, the minimum wage is 7 thousand dollars per week.
