The teachings and philosophies of Marcus Garvey were approved for teaching in 23 primary schools. The national hero’s son, Dr Julius Garvey says the Marcus Garvey in Schools Foundation received a letter recently from the Ministry of Education giving permission for Garvey’s Legacy to be preserved. While black history remains embedded in Jamaica’s identity, the teachings of Jamaica’s First National Hero Marcus Garvey are set to be taught in schools across the country.

During a recent welcoming ceremony at Liberty Hall in Resource, South Manchester. Dr Julius says the foundation received a letter dated February 23 from the ministry giving permission for an extension of a pilot project. Watch the report:
