Labourites rang their bells, signaling that one good term deserves another;  while Comrades took to the streets with their brooms promising to sweep the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) out of office come September 3.

A sea of yellow added to the kaleidoscope as supporters of the Independent Candidate also came out in force.

The candidates are the PNP’s Dayton Campbell, Krystal Lee from the JLP and Peter Shand who is an independent candidate.

In 2016 the PNP won the seat by three hundred and thirty seven (337) votes.

Over in South East St. Mary the battle intensifies between Dr. Shane Alexis and the JLP’s Dr Norman Dunn.

Both candidates have expressed great confidence in their ability to claim victory come September 3.

Dr. Norman Dunn served the constituency for the past three years and says the work he has done will be his ticket to being re-elected.

Despite strict guidelines outlined for election campaigning there was an alarming disregard for COVID-19 protocols throughout Nomination Day on August 18.
