Several flood-prone zones across the corporate area were recently toured by Kingston’s Mayor, Delroy Williams. As Jamaica approaches the peak of the hurricane season, the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) says it remains resolute in its disaster preparedness. The KSAMC held their annual shelter management conference recently, as they continue to monitor the municipality.

Kingston Mayor, Senator Delroy Williams, says the engagement is a necessity. Mayor Williams lauded the Ministry of Education for its continued support in providing shelters in schools across the municipality. He adds that the KSAMC aims to provide shelters for areas more prone to flooding.

Meanwhile, the Kingston Mayor further lauds the shelter managers for their diligent work throughout the season.  The Met Service of Jamaica recently announced that Jamaicans can expect more rainfall in sections of the country until Thursday, due to a trough. Watch the report:
