In an effort to update the court, the prosecution also reported that outstanding documents from the Communication Forensics and Cybercrime Division (CFCD) are to be submitted. Adding that the police have commenced transcribing more telephone recordings between alleged members of the gang – these were secretly recorded by a former gang member now turned crown witness. The court has already heard several of those recordings, seeking to establish the connection among the defendants… The recordings laced with expletives revealed plans to purchase guns and ammunition, extortion activities, the involvement of corrupt police, and even instances of the alleged gangsters conspiring to murder.
Meanwhile, a ballistics expert continued giving evidence on Thursday highlighting linkages between crime scenes and firearms recovered that are associated with members of the gang. He detailed the conclusion of a ballistic match report in which he reviewed ten incidents to include nine alleged murders. He stated that there were at least eleven distinct firearms used on the scenes. Those eleven firearms he says are directly linked to thirty-five shooting incidents, including at least twenty-seven murders, seven shootings, and one incident of assault.
The police recovered two of the firearms, with code names Ersela and Anjanette. Ersela is linked to six incidents and Anjanette is connected to a total of 10 incidents.
The trial will reconvene on Monday morning at 10.
