A Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) driver was reportedly stabbed by a passenger on the Portmore to Kingston route. The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) warns of possible service disruption and advises the public to use alternative methods of transport.

April 11, 2024 – Members of the public are being advised to expect delays as drivers of the
Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC), who ply the route Portmore to downtown Kingston,
have withdrew their services.
The drivers’ action came as a result of a colleague being stabbed by a passenger. The male
passenger reportedly requested a stop at an area that is not a designated bus stop. The driver
refused, resulting in the passenger stabbing him. The condition of the driver is unknown at this
time as he is being treated at hospital.
Members of the public are urged to use alternative methods of transportation where possible.
