Staff at the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) returned to work today after two days of strike action. President of the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA), O’Neil Grant says the union came to an agreement with the Finance Ministry on several of the critical issues relating to compensation.

The JCSA President explains much of the concerns centered around compensation and job classification being undertaken by the government. He says step two will be the issue of evaluations. Meantime grant says wage talks with the government are ongoing for scores of public sector workers some of which must be handled on a case-by-case basis.

While he notes a deal could be inked shortly for some agencies and workers, he cites delays spurred by changes at others. Watch the report:
