Jamaican Entrepreneur Butch Stewart Dies At 79

Jamaican Entrepreneur and Hotelier, Gordon Butch Stewart has died. He passed away last night in Miami after battling illness. He was 79.

Stewart, who was a business mogul, carved himself a niche in tourism founding the Sandals International Group, an all-inclusive hotel chain.

He’s also the founder of the ATL Group, and local media entity, the Jamaica Observer.

News of his death has sent ripples throughout the local and international tourism fraternity. Tributes continue to pour in for the giant of a man that was.
