The recent escalation in a gang war in Waterhouse has served to create much social instability, despite the presence of security forces in an attempt to quell the ongoing violence. The church, which itself witnessed the gruesome display recently, decided to take a stand in the tense community.

The Maranatha Ministries took its sermon to the streets of Waterhouse, St Andrew praying for the members within the community following last week’s shooting in the area.

Councillor for the Molynes Gardens Division, Patrick Roberts who was also part of the march says the community needs a social intervention.

Reverend Bobby Mcintosh, pastor for the Ministry says the drive by shooting has left the community in fear and confusion.

He says crimes made their way even in the church, recounting the murder of 51-year-old bank manager, Andrea Lowe-Garwood.

Mcintosh says though the church fights against principalities and powers using prayer, security is almost paramount.
