Amid a pandemic, Jamaica is scoring big as the destination for travel and is well on its way to recovery.

The initial projection for arrival of visitors to the island in December was 83,000.

However, for the period of December 1 to December 26, 90,000 arrivals were recorded.

Minister Bartlett says the period from December 22-26 saw 19,000 visitors arriving, the largest number since the country’s borders reopened in June.

Additionally, he is of the view that the months of January and February like previous years will be soft months for the tourism sector.

Bartlett says plans are afoot to bring on stream small players in the Air BnB industry.
