In the Prime Minister’s Press Briefing, he announced the country is experiencing drought, which is ‘affecting the Agricultural sector to a point that the Government believes the public should be aware’. In his address, Prime Minister Andrew Holness addressed meteorological drought and encourages Jamaicans to conserve water.

He says the funds will be directed based on needs. The Prime Minister notes that Members of Parliament will also receive an allocation through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Resources will be aimed at rural areas that are in need.
