Tuesday’s movie-like duel in Sam Sharpe Square St James has no doubt stained the minds of the Jamaican people and those who saw the incident. Investigations by the authorities are now underway. Head of the St James Police Division, Superintendent Carlos Russell says the police have always been present in the town and proved useful in ending the gun conflict between the firearm holders. The officer says despite the challenges to policing his team is always ensuring people feel safe in the space.
The Firearm Licensing Agency (FLA) has also launched an investigation following the breach of the use of force policy by the two firearm holders. Both men suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. Watch the report below:
