Hope zoo alongside the National Environment and Planning Agency, NEPA, on Thursday hosted an event to celebrate world wildlife day, to raise awareness on the importance of preserving all local wildlife. Teachers and students were in attendance for activities celebrating world wildlife day, hosted by hope zoo in Kingston.

The event aims to raise awareness for the importance of preserving all local wildlife. Environmental officer at NEPA’s Ecosystems Management Branch, Treya Picking, stresses the importance for citizens to protect the natural environment and endangered species.

She says NEPA works with the zoo to nurture displaced animals. Marketing and events manager for Hope Zoo Patrice Levy lauds NEPA for their efforts in rescuing vulnerable animals. Meanwhile, Zoo Director, Valerie Juggan-Brown is inviting the public to visit the zoo to lend their support for the upkeep of all animals.
