Government to increase military presence in troubled communities – National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang is seeking the opposition’s support in increasing joint security presence across the country. His appeal was favorably met but with conditions. The Minister’s push follows a wave of violence and crime across several police divisions since the start of the year. Minister Chang says the governments committed to the safety and security of the Jamaican people, but notes it will take both major political parties to keep the crime strategy in place. He was speaking in the House of Representatives on February 2.
