Government To Be Taken to Privy Council If JCF Needs Not Met

An impassioned Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation, Rohan James, raised several issues the entity has with the government’s compensation package. He insists that the members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) are being deprived of the basic resources needed to carry out their job; leading to a force that feels undervalued, demoralized, and ready to fight for what they believe they deserve.

In the presence of Minister of National Security Horace Chang and the Opposition Spokesperson on National Security Peter Bunting, the Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation spoke to the lack of respect and resources given to rank and file members. Chief among his demands was the transparency concerning the compensation review. The federation says it will proceed to the Privy Council with the government, if unsuccessful with its overtime predicament, stating that members are owed over 40 billion dollars.
