Amid questions about the appointment of pro-abortion and LGBTQ+ Advocate, Professor Richard Albert to Jamaica’s Constitutional Reform Committee, Information Minister Robert Morgan has shared the government’s position. He says Jamaicans can expect the laws which make abortion and buggery illegal to remain the same, despite a new constitution being written. The government has sought to quell concerns regarding the appointment of pro-abortion and Pro-lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans Gender and Queer, LGBTQ+ Advocate, Professor Richard Albert, to Jamaica’s Constitutional Reform Committee. On Monday, CVM LIVE spoke with Bishop Dr Alvin Bailey who insists the Canadian professor’s bias may be imposed on the Constitution, further declining the ethical and moral fiber of Jamaica. Information Minister, Robert Morgan, says each member of CRC was selected with Jamaica’s best interest at heart. He is adamant the constitutional reform process will not disturb the existing laws on these matters.
Morgan says it is highly unlikely for Professor Albert’s bias to infiltrate the other committee members, whom he describes as critical thinkers of intellect, competence, and consequence. Watch the report:
