On Tuesday Parliamentarians met to discuss the soon-to-be-enacted new Firearms Act. Opposition Leader Mark Golding told the Lower House, the changes made to Firearm Act are very crucial. He says in its original state the bill was inadequate, creating major loopholes.

During his presentation in the house of representatives on Tuesday, Golding suggests the original amnesty lacked clarity. He explains the penalty for persons in possession of an illegal firearm was too extreme. Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader says they (Opposition Party) support the move to amend the critical Firearm Act. The new Firearms Prohibition Restriction and Regulations Act was passed on Friday, September 23 with 17 amendments. More details in the report:
