PNP President Mark Golding has expressed opposition to the government’s decision to remove the testing requirement for travelers coming in to the country. Golding says it was a wrong move for Jamaica as the country seeks to return to normality. He also opined on the latest early childhood assessment report while on a tour of Portland. While on a tour of sections of Portland, Friday, Opposition Leader Mark Golding, addressed the recent assessment of early childhood institutions undertaken by the early childhood commission.

Portland was among the region that showed the highest number of ECI’s that failed the inspection. He also took the opportunity to discuss the recent increase in Covid-19 cases since the confirmation of the highly transmissible omicron BA.2 variant in Jamaica. He says while Jamaica seeks to recover the loss caused by the pandemic some measures should have been kept to ensure the safety of the population.
