The Advocate’s Network has taken the government to task for its 8 million dollars spend on the royal visit in March, calling the decision imprudent. The group believes the government’s decision to prioritize the use of more than $8 million dollars to host Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate, instead of addressing many of the urgent needs facing Jamaica, is a display of gross insensitivity.

Also, among the decisions the Advocates Network says the government could have made are: assisting 100 tertiary students, especially those whose parents lost their job or business, with $80,000 towards their tuition fees and providing 8,000 children with breakfast at school for at least 1 month.
