Member of Parliament for Western St Mary, Robert Montague presented the community of Gayle, with a new and improved Independence arch light; he explained that the color of the bulbs was premeditated as a strategy for political unity within the community.

After an extended period with a dysfunctional light, Transport Minister Robert Montague turned on the arch light of independence in the town of Gayle, St Mary on New Year’s Eve. This light is described by many as a legacy of the town, especially because it was a part of Jamaica’s Independence.

Minister Montague, while highlighting a Junkanoo group dancing in the streets, expressed that it is necessary for children to experience the culture of Jamaica.
