Established in September 2011 by the late Senior Superintendent Dathan Henry, and Former Sergeant of Police Odale Mulgrave, the “GRAPE” Programme (Gang Reduction and Prevention Education Programme ) stands to prevent crime, by improving the social behaviours of young boys and girls to become better women and men of tomorrow.

Detective of Clarendon Police Division Sergeant Willock-Gordon brings light to the prosperous gang reduction and Prevention Education Programme that has served as a crime-fighting initiative for young children of the Clarendon parish since 2011. Mentorship, counselling, and educational sessions are employed to support and encourage children in finding who they truly are turning them away from engaging in criminal activities. She mentions that the programme has provided a safe space for children to express themselves. Writing, drawings, and interpersonal assessments help to identify triggers that propel certain behaviour.
