Gang Conflict in Spanish Town Targets Women, Minister Concerned

Dr. Chang Commends JCF Efforts, and Expresses Concerns about Crime Trends – Dr. Horace Chang, Jamaica’s National Security Minister, has commended the work of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in making arrests, while also highlighting concerning trends among criminals in the old capital targeting women. During a tour of the Norman Manley International Airport, Dr. Chang, alongside Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Horace Chang, assured the public that the country’s borders were secure. However, recent incidents, such as the tragic killing of a family in Waterloo, St. Catherine, have underscored the persistent challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing violence.

Dr. Chang further delved into the evolving patterns of crime and violence affecting older age groups. While there hasn’t been a reported increase in domestic violence cases, he expressed some concerns about related issues in the community. The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing additional resources to support the police in their efforts to combat ongoing violence. Watch the report:
