A few years ago, the word resilient could not be used to describe the Mandeville Health Centre. Today the centre is known as the Mandeville Comprehensive Smart Health Centre. It was renovated to be a safer, greener, and more resilient facility. Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Christopher Tufton says infrastructure development and resilience is a priority of the Ministry. The Mandeville Health Centre has received a much-needed upgrade boasting the standard features of a 21st-century health centre.

The smart hospital as it is now called, falls under the strengthening health care facilities project being executed in the Caribbean. Handed over to the Ministry of Health and Wellness by acting Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) representative, Dr. Serene Joseph, renovations to the centre amassed over USD 1.6 million. Expressing gratitude to the key partners, Minister of Health Dr. Christopher Tufton asserts, even though it’s not the first of its kind, it’s a welcomed renovation adding there are others on the way. WATCH:
