Community Health Aides and Public Health Nurses clad in masks, gloves, disposable gowns and informative COVID-19 fliers filled the bus terminus in Spanish Town on Friday morning to help in the fight against the spread of the novel corona virus.

The health team is targeting Transport Operators who are deemed as the group who are at moderate risk of contracting the virus.

The two testing techniques which will be used to test for the virus are the nasopharyngeal test which is from the nose down and also the oral pharyngeal, from mouth to throat.  Senior Public Health Nurse, Marlene Stephenson says the results will be ready in two days.

The operation will be continued throughout various communities where taxi drivers are the targeted group, but the testing is  not closed to  commuters who are willing to volunteer.
