Four Accused Klansman Gang Members Were Found Not Guilty

Four alleged members of the Klansman Gang have been found not guilty. Having gone through their notes, the prosecution is of the position that a case has not been made out against the following four men:

Damaine Elliston – 3 counts
Rushane Williams – 2 counts
Owen Ormsby – 4 counts
Rivaldo Hylton -3 counts

The charges that were dropped include being part of a criminal organization, conspiracy to murder, arson, and murder. Chief Justice Sykes made the judgment in court on May 26, the men were discharged and removed from the court.

No case submissions began shortly after, thus is made when the defence considers that the prosecution case does not support a finding of guilt and that the court should dismiss the charge without the defence having to present a case.

The lawyer for Andre Blackman Bryan highlighted that of 25 counts Blackman was only named in 17. He argues that for count 20 which names Bryan in the 2018 murder of an unknown man in St Catherine, the prosecution did not provide sufficient evidence that the man who was shot, died.

He supported this with the crown witness testimony which said that Bryan’s alleged instructions to go back to the scene to ensure the man was dead was not followed.

The Attorney for Kevaghn Green asked that he be dismissed from being part of a criminal organization as witness testimony only presents green as Blackman’s brother.

Concerning the Fisheries double murder arson, which took place in Spanish Town on September 8, 2017, Brian Morris and Micheal Whitely were charged. Their lawyer, however, says there is not sufficient evidence to place the two at the scene.

Other appeals were made for Tomrick Taylor, Daniel Mckenzie,Kalifah William’s, Chevoy Evan’s, Carl Beech, Keith Miller, Dwight Hall, Llamar Simpson and Dillon Mclean

Court resumes Monday 10am.
