Former FLA Deputy Chairman Dennis Meadows has fired back at claims made in the report. In statement made on Saturday, Meadows says the report reflects a gross misrepresentation of the facts and wittingly seeks to challenge his character and good name. He sought to respond to claims that he didn’t recuse himself from the proceedings in which his wife’s brother appealed and was granted a firearm license despite a criminal record. Dennis meadows served between 2016 and 2017 two of several years highlighted for the probe. He notes several areas of concerns and what he deemed effort to sully his character.

Meadows says the report begs some obvious questions; he also insists he did not seek to hide the relation to his brother in law when the license was sought. The former JLP Senator says he has without prompting resigned from all state boards which include the western regional health authority, river rafting authority and the Falmouth Hospital Management committee in the interest of good governance.  Meantime the Opposition People’s National Party insists given the outcome of the investigations by the integrity commission, and the additional details provided by Mr. Bunting, there is no question of the two decisions being in any manner tainted by corruption or improper motive. The party says there is nothing that has come to light that suggests that the decisions were flawed or improper, and they are guided by due process.
