Food Security, Road Repairs & COVID-19 Protocols

Food security, road repairs, and COVID-19 Protocols – Government Ministers and States Minister on Tuesday addressed a number of concerns relating to the upcoming Christmas season.

Food security, road repairs, and the new COVID-19 protocols for the festive season were among the issues explored. The ministers were speaking at the first post-cabinet press briefing in several months.

Minister of Information, Fayval Williams presided over the resumption of the post-cabinet press briefing. With over fourteen thousand farmers impacted by the recent heavy rains and an estimated economic loss of 2.5 billion, food security is one of the many concerns as the Christmas season approaches.

Minister Of Agriculture and Fisheries Floyd Green during a post-cabinet press briefing on Tuesday says while the industry receives a staggering hit, Jamaicans can expect to have an adequate food supply.

In the aftermath of recent heavy rains, three roadways remain impassable. Two in St. Andrew and one in Clarendon; Stephen Shaw is the communications officer at the national works agency.

Shaw says the National Works Agency (NWA) is aware of the roads which were badly damaged and how they are creating major disruptions for road users.
