The National Shelter Management Programme has been strengthened with the donation of 1,000 emergency vests and 250 emergency shelter signs valued at just over 3-million dollars by Flow Jamaica. The donation is expected to allow for the installation of shelter signs in parishes where none currently exists.

The programme was boosted was with a J$3million dollar donation of safety vests and signage by flow recently.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Director General for ODPEM Richard Thompson says the longstanding Shelter Management Programme has been upgraded since the onset of the pandemic. Mr. Thompson sought to highlight the importance of establishing proper identification as it relates to signs and shelter managers.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Flow Stephen Price says there’s a major need to provide support to the government regarding disasters.
