More civil unrest, as firefighters from the Jamaica Fire Brigade staged a protest outside the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in Kingston on Tuesday, May 17. They are demanding a meeting with Prime Minister Andrew Holness and say the current union representatives have been inefficient.

Carrying a torch of burning frustration, members of the Jamaica Fire Brigade were out in their numbers demanding attention from the government.  Leo Bennett a firefighter says the brigade has not taken industrial action, however, they will if the initiative is not taken by the government.

He is calling for a direct meeting with Prime Minister Andrew Holness. Bennett also alluded to the recent statements made by Trade Union Leader Helene Davis-White, characterizing her input as pointless.

The firefighters are hoping to get a response within the next 24 hours. Watch the report below:
