On Monday fire ravaged two businesses in Portmore, St Catherine, and two days later another business place was gutted, this time in the Cross Roads Area of Kingston. The blaze saw damage to a bakery, disrupting daily operations. The Manager says he is grateful no lives were lost.

On Wednesday morning the Fire Brigade responded to a fire that damaged the upper floor of a complex which houses the LynMax Bakery on Slipe Pen Road in Kingston. Onlookers said they saw usual bakery fumes however it was not until minutes to 10 thick smoke billowed through the windows that drew their attention. When CVM LIVE arrived on the scene charred remnants and water could be seen streaming from the bakery.

The Manager of the 22-year-old bakery, Clarence Maxwell, told CVM LIVE that an explosion happened from an oven that was lit. He says it might be from an unsuspected gas spill. However Public Relations Officer at the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emilio Ebanks says the cause is unknown and investigations are ongoing.
