The government announced that it will be increasing its budgetary spending by approximately 25.8 billion dollars for the current fiscal year. This takes the country’s overall expenditure to 893 billion dollars.

Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke on Tuesday tabled a second supplementary budget 3, per cent more than the first which was approved in October.  The second supplementary estimate targeted ministries, departments, and agencies responsible for the execution of the care component of the Serve Programme. It will also provide funds for the 4 per cent wage settlement for public sector workers for this fiscal year.
