The field hospital on the grounds of the Savanna-La-Mar public hospital in Westmoreland has been officially opened, increasing the country’s bed capacity to further treat COVID-19 patients. Speaking at the opening ceremony Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Christopher Tufton admitted that the western hospital was overwhelmed in the third wave of the pandemic last year.
