Education Minister Fayval Williams says the ministry remains firm in its resolve to improve the education sector. The Minister who was speaking at the Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) Conference in Montego Bay St. James, also noted that changes for teachers are imminent. Emerging from day three of the JTA’s conference, Minister Fayval Williams highlighted concerns from the 2021 education report, noting it is similar to a previous 2004 report.

The Minister points out that one of the major recommendations from the 2004 report, was to extend the time in school. She notes the sixth form Pathways Programme was implemented and to date over 17,000 students have been pre-registered.
