Farmers in Trelawny step up: According to the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), the impact of adverse weather conditions which destroyed crops and delayed planting efforts of farmers is anticipated to result in a contraction in output for the agricultural industry for the November to December Quarter.

Although farmers in Braco, Trelawny were not directly affected they say production of some crops suffered a setback.

At this time of the year, they say food production would have been going at a faster pace, and with COVID-19 causing a decrease in hotel services, they had to switch crops.

Though things are slow, they say things are gradually picking up.

Braco farmers are currently occupying roughly 80 acres of land, however they say a nearby 70 acres plot could enhance production.
